Signs of Life

Just when it looked like the Tampa Bay Rays were going to roll over and let the Milwaukee Brewers sweep them in the World Series, they are finally showing some signs of life. Now, to be fair, there are a lot of different ways you can choose to look at this.
The series kicked off on Friday this past weekend with Milwaukee jumping to a quick 1 game lead over the Rays beating them 3 to 2. Then on Saturday, we played game 2, also in Milwaukee where the Brewers had another one run victory over Tampa Bay 5 to 4.
They then were treated to a travel day before the Brewers stormed into Tampa Bay on Monday like a hurricane and rocked the Rays 10 to 1 to pull to a commanding 3 to 0 lead in the series. It looked like it was going to be a done deal at that point, but as the title of this post suggests, the Rays showed some signs of life and took last nights game into a massive 12 innings before they edged past the Brewers 4 to 3. We have one more game in Tampa Bay before the series moves back to Milwaukee in a 2 - 3 - 2 seven game format.
Some might argue that the Brewers simply want to win the title at home, so they are playing down to get that chance. It's a risky proposition though because then you risk the Rays getting some momentum. If you play that way, it is suddenly only 3 to 2 heading back to Milwaukee, and anything could happen at that point.
Others might argue that this is simply the Rays realizing they are on the brink of elimination and giving it one last push before the eventually succumb to the might of the National League. Personally, I think the Brewers will likely close things out tonight.
I'm going to be on the road, but hopefully I will get a chance to watch a bit of the game. It won't be the first time a team has won the title on the road, and people always find a way to celebrate no matter where they are.
I think trying to win the series at home is too big of a risk. One that the Brewers aren't likely to try and take. The fact that the first two games and the game last night were so close, could mean that we have a decent series ahead of us, but only time will tell.
