Weekend Plans

I'm not really sure how much football I am going to get to watch this weekend. I have some big big plans that I will talk about when next week rolls around. Typically, my wife and I would probably be camping this weekend, but we had to call the season early this year due to a few different factors. It actually feels a bit weird not spending those cold nights huddled around a campfire and watching football with a projector on the side of the travel trailer.
If you are lucky enough to be home, or out with friends this weekend and you want to know what to watch, these are my suggestions. Of course, the MLB post season is still happening, so baseball is always a good choice, but if you prefer American Football, check these games out:
If I get the chance, I will be watching Northwestern and Michigan State on Saturday at noon. Hopefully it will be somewhere that serves alcohol because that is about the only way you can handle watching the Spartans right now. It's just miserable, and I don't expect it to get much better as Coach Pat Fitzgerald's old team comes to East Lansing to play. Especially given the fact Northwestern is now ranked in the top 25 at 25th, and Michigan State sucks (to put it plainly).
A few weeks ago, that Florida vs Texas game was probably about the biggest thing on the bill for this weekend, but now that the Longhorns have lost and tumbled down to 7th place, and the Gators appear to have just been a flash in the pan that one week, I don't think anyone really cares about that game like they might have.
The number 16 Mississippi State vs. number 22 LSU game could be pretty good though. I'd check that one out. Maybe just flip back and forth to the Texas/Florida game in case both teams actually come to play.
In the Big Ten, the hottest match up of the day is probably number 4 Ohio State vs. number 5 Indiana. That game will have a lot of repercussions through the conference no matter who wins and who loses. I'll definitely be checking in on the score of that one if not watching it outright.
Number 13 Missouri taking on number 9 Mississippi could be another good game too. Number 6 Alabama has another big match up this weekend as they try to recover from that tragic loss to number 1 Georgia and face number 14 Tennessee in Knoxville. Vegas has Bama winning by a touchdown, but you just never know!
Number 18 Oklahoma State taking on number 20 Houston could be a good game too. Maybe just keep an eye on it.
The other really big game in the NCAA this weekend will be number 2 Notre Dame vs. number 8 BYU. I expect this will fall in favor of the Fighting Irish, but stranger things have happened right?
As you can see, there are quite a few ranked match ups this weekend. I think no matter which game you settle on, you should be quite happen with how you spent your time. Unless you are a Michigan State fan like me!
