These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, and injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...
Saturday ended with very little action and more or less break even. There were 2 bets that were very straightforward and where I should have gotten more out of but I guess I'm right now in a mode where I'm getting back into it after a 3 week break. Sunday is similar where I have some ideas but I need to convince myself still while makeing these previews with not that much time left before the first match starts...
Standard vs Charleroi

First off, this match will be played without fans which breaks the hope advantage quite a bit for Standard. Charleroi also has been quite legit this season so far and their 4th place with 18 point is justified. The main question is if the break now kind of broke their momentum or if they just continue their ways. They are close to complete with just Bernier injured who has been out a couple weeks. Overall I just expect Charleroi to play another mature match. Standard this season also looks quite ok but they still have it in them very much to often screw up one way or another. In their last match against Gent, they were bit bad but did not create enough and were just a bit too vulnerable in defense. Based on the xg, both have very similar numbers at 1.78 & 1.87xg created in the last 4 weeks & 1.37 & .39xg against. Overall I see Charleroi as the more mature team and given that there will be no fans in the stadion, I'm kind of willing to back them as the slight favorite with the draw covered. The only thing that I really don't like is that I'm going againt the move as they opened at 1.73 odds. So that's why I don't make it an 'official bold bet'. 0.3 units on
Charleroi +0 @ 1.892 & 0.1 unit on
Charleroi 1st Half +0 @ 1.882. My notes also say charleroi corners over if they get hehind so that is what I will keep an eye out for if they would fall behind.
Union vs OH Leuven
OHL finally managed to break their bad results streak before the break with a deserved 2-0 win over a weak La Louviere. They now had the break and will face Union who play at home which feels like an impossible task. Union pretty much once again got in gear despite the key defensive players who are injured or left. in 7 matches, they are at 21 goals scored and 3 against and they have yet to get a goal against at home. Anything but a home win would be a big surprise, and I just can't get myself to oppose Union or go for the under which are the both options that I'm closest to. So I just opt to stay away which feels like the least risky approach.

Westerlo vs Antwerp
Weterlo had a really shaky start of the season with a young team and many new players but they somehow managed to overcome that and were one of the better teams in the last 3 weeks. The main question is if the 3-week break somehow also broke the momentum a bit. So far this hasn't been the case for other teams (aside from Anderlecht who were really bad) so I assume they will just put up a good performance again today. Antwerp is in 15th place now and the main statistic that stands out if their average xg against which sits at a whopping 3.20 in the last 4 matches and 2.26 over the season putting them in last position by quite some margin. They got Cortes and Vermeeren in an attempt to make things better but so far this has not really made a big difference. Basically, I like Westerlo and the over in this match. I very cautiously took just 0.2 units on
Westerlo -0.25 @ 1.838 with an eye also on the Westerlo Team Total Over & the FT over hoping to get better odds on that.
Mechelen vs Sint-Truiden

Mechelen so far this season has been the worst team in the league and the team who needed the 3-Week break the most. I do think they should and will end the season above teams like Kortrijk & La Louviere but it likely will be a struggle until the end. Their coach is still on and I guess today might be the do-or-die day in that they need to perform better and take points at home to keep him in place furter and not go for the new coach shock effect. Stvv might be a good opponent for them today as they will play their first European match next week and they come off a poor 0-2 loss at home against Westerlo. The week before, they showed not to be good against a defensive block and they lost with a 2-0 score against Beveren. The main question here is if I want to take the gamble on Mechelen and I don't. I rather wait for things to turn around to possibly back them in case the odds and lines don't adjust. Stvv also is at 2.13xg created in their last 4 matches on average.
