Gameweek 8 Recap: 56 Points and a Jump of 2.7 Million Places
1 min readFootball

Gameweek 8 was my best week of the season so far. I scored 56 points, double the 27 average, and my rank went from about 3.7 million to just over 1 million.
Haaland was my captain and gave 16 points (8, doubled), but it wasn't a one-man week. Araujo scored 10, Virgil 9, Raya 7, Bogle 5 and Belloumi 4. Six players returned 4 points or more, which is the kind of spread you want.
Not everything worked. Szoboszlai and Groß both blanked, and Szoboszlai still carries an injury flag, so he's the obvious transfer. Calvert-Lewin and Tarkowski added 2 each, and Bruno had a quiet 1.
I made no transfers and the squad still delivered. My bench scored 6 points that didn't count.
It was a welcome bounce back after Chelsea knocked me out of Last Man Standing the day before. Gameweek 9 is trickier, because Liverpool host Arsenal and I have players on both sides, with Virgil, Araujo and Szoboszlai against Raya and Bruno. Haaland at home to Brighton is the easy part.
