⚽ Malo Gusto: I Don't Think Chelsea Should Be in a Hurry to Sell Him
3 min read$0.43 pending
Honestly, when I came across the news that Chelsea might be willing to lower their asking price for Malo Gusto, I started wondering what the club's plans for him really are. We are talking about a 23-year-old defender who still has a lot to offer, so I don't think this is a decision Chelsea should make without properly thinking it through.

Chelsea previously valued Gusto at around £75 million during the transfer window, a price that reportedly discouraged interest from several clubs. Now, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Tottenham and PSG are said to be monitoring his situation. There are also suggestions that the player may consider leaving if he cannot get the playing time and role he wants.
For me, the playing-time issue is understandable. Every footballer wants to play regularly, especially at this stage of his career. Nobody wants to spend too much time on the bench when they believe they have the ability to contribute on the pitch.
But looking at this situation from Chelsea's side, I feel the club needs to be careful.
Gusto is still young, and I believe there is room for him to improve. He has shown that he can contribute both defensively and going forward. Of course, he is not a perfect player, and there are areas of his game that can still get better. However, I don't think every player needs to be sold simply because he is not getting as much playing time as he would like.
Sometimes, I feel Chelsea make things more complicated than they need to be when it comes to managing young players. The club invests in talented footballers, but before some of them have enough time to settle and develop, rumours about their departure start coming up.
If Gusto eventually leaves, who will Chelsea bring in to replace him? Will the new player be better? Will he adapt quickly to the team? These are questions worth asking before making such a decision.
In the other hand, I don't believe Chelsea should keep a player against his wishes. If Gusto genuinely wants a new challenge and a club comes forward with a reasonable offer, then both sides may have to find a solution.
What I don't want to see is Chelsea selling a promising player without having a proper plan in place. The money might look attractive today, but finding the right replacement is not always easy.
For now, I think we should wait and see how things develop. These are still reports, and nothing is certain yet.
If you ask me, I would prefer Chelsea to give Gusto a fair chance to establish himself before considering a sale.
But what about you? Do you think Chelsea should hold on to Malo Gusto, or would you be comfortable with the club selling him if the right offer arrives?
Let's talk about it in the comments. 💙
