Malo Gusto to PSG? Maybe It Is Time for Chelsea to Let Him Go

As a Chelsea fan, I know that seeing players leave the club is not always an easy thing to accept. Sometimes, we become attached to certain players because of their talent, their potential, or the memories they have given us. But football doesn't work that way all the time. Sometimes, a transfer is the best decision for both the player and the club.

That is how I feel about the news linking Malo Gusto with Paris Saint-Germain.
Honestly, I don't think Chelsea should make his departure difficult if PSG come forward with a reasonable offer. From what I can see, Gusto doesn't appear to be part of Xabi Alonso's main plans, and there is no point keeping a player at the club if the manager doesn't see him playing an important role in the team and he only play few minutes in Bournemouth 5-1 win.
Gusto is still a talented right-back, and I believe he has qualities that many clubs would appreciate. He has the ability to contribute going forward, and his energy can be useful in the right system. PSG are looking for defensive reinforcements, so I can understand why they would be interested in bringing him to Paris.
However, I also believe Chelsea must be careful with the price. The club reportedly valued him at £75 million last summer, but that doesn't mean they should expect the same amount in every transfer window. If PSG are serious about signing him, both clubs need to find a reasonable agreement that benefits everyone.
For me, the biggest question is whether Chelsea genuinely need to keep a player who may struggle to get regular opportunities under Alonso. I would rather see the club make a sensible decision than keep players simply because they have potential. Potential is important, but a footballer's development also depends on getting enough playing time.
Of course, I don't want Chelsea to start selling players without thinking about the consequences. Squad depth really matters, especially when injuries and a busy fixture schedule come into the picture. If Gusto leaves, the club must be confident that they have enough quality at right-back to cope with the demands of the season.
Still, if Alonso has other plans for that position and PSG present a good offer, I would not stand in the way of this transfer.
Sometimes, a fresh start is exactly what a player needs. Gusto could find more opportunities in Paris, while Chelsea could use the money to strengthen an area where the manager believes the team needs improvement.
At Chelsea, we need players who fit the manager's ideas and can contribute to the team's progress. Keeping a talented player on the bench doesn't always help anyone.
